Re-Opening Information for April 12th - May 16th

We all can’t wait to welcome you back to the Club again.

Clearly the Club will look a little different as we make sure we comply with the government legislation for the latest COVID-19 secure requirements. Here is what you need to know!

Gym

We think you will love the new equipment, the different layout and the extra space. We are waiting for a couple of pieces of equipment to arrive but everything else is in place. The current layout is not the final layout, but is to comply with the current social distancing rules. We have more space and more equipment than was available prior to the last lockdown but there is more to come as restrictions are lifted!

All the CV equipment is connected to the internet and you can watch Netflix or You Tube whilst you work out. There will be the chance to watch terrestrial TV too but this is not connected just yet. We hope to get the contractors back to sort this as soon as we can.

There is no need to book, you just come in and use the gym whenever you want.

The team will be around to show you how to use the new equipment and there are instructional screens on all the equipment. You will be able to use your membership card to activate the machines, although your keys will also work. If you have the wellness app on your phone then this can used to activate the machines too. We will also be posting some instructional videos on Facebook so have a look on there too.

Teenage Gym Use

For the next week, starting Monday 12th, we are still in the school Easter holidays so teenagers can use the gym from:

Monday to Friday: 13:00 – 18:00

Weekends – All day

Please note that they must be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian throughout their visit and that all the gym equipment for their use is now upstairs in the new layout.

From w/c 19th April we will go back to normal teen gym times.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool can be used in adult times without booking. The vitality pool will be open too although we have to keep the sauna and steam room closed.

Family swim can be booked, via reception.

The family swim times are as follows:

Monday – Friday:                                  9am – 10:15am

                                                                2pm – 2:50pm

                                                                4pm – 4:50pm

                                                                5pm – 5:50pm

Saturday / Sunday:                          10:30am – 11:20am

                                                                11:30am – 12:20pm

                                                                3pm – 3:50pm

                                                                4pm – 4:50pm

                                                                5pm – 5:50pm

All other times are adult only.

Please note that under the government regulations, parents are not allowed to be on poolside whilst children swim so you will need to get into the pool with your children. We apologise about this but this is out of our control. We believe the rule on this will be relaxed from May 17th.

Group Exercise Classes

Sadly, we are not allowed to offer any indoor group exercise classes until May 17th. We will be providing a lot more classes outside in the #BASE and you can find the timetable on the website and book online via the members area as usual.

We will also be streaming some classes live and there is a library of classes for you to access online at home via the members area of the website.

Here is the class timetable for the #BASE area for the 12th April - 16th May

Childrens Activity Programme

Our activity programme for our junior members will start on April 17th with Jiu Jitsu. The programme is on the website and you can book in from when the Club reopens on Monday

Tennis

The indoor courts will be open for one-to-one coaching, junior group coaching sessions and for people from the same household only. We are not allowed to have spectators for the indoor courts either, including parents who have children taking part in coaching sessions. Please can you wait in the outdoor bar area at the front of the club, or, if you prefer, in your car. We are as frustrated as you are about these rules but we are required to enforce them. Please help us to comply with the government rules by adhering to the above. The rules should be relaxed in five weeks.

The outdoor courts are available as usual with no restrictions and can be booked in the normal way at reception.

If you have any queries about the tennis programme of coaching then please do contact our Tennis Director, Simon Haddleton, either by text (07748 654521) or e-mail [email protected]

The Hub

Like all other restaurants and pubs, we are limited to offering food and drink either as a take away or outside. We are creating space for you to enjoy food and drink on the balcony or in front of the Club where we have a giant umbrella. Please order you takeaway at the bar. If you are wanting to eat outside then please do make sure you let the team know and we will come and take your order.

As a consequence of these restrictions, we will have limited times for food service for the first five weeks and availability is as follows:

Monday to Wednesday:                                                                          8am – 5:30pm

Thursday and Friday:                                                                              8am – 4-30pm

Saturday and Sunday:                                                                            9am – 4:45pm

Changing Rooms

Please be aware that the although the changing rooms are open, you should only use them if you need to. It is preferable if you can arrive “exercise ready” and not use the changing rooms. Clearly, we appreciate that this doesn’t apply to those of you who are going into the swimming pool.

Please rest assured that we are doing all we can to get the Club ready for Monday and that all the usual protocols are back in place to keep the Club operating to COVID secure guidelines. We will be working as hard as we always have to ensure your safety is our top priority.

If you need to contact us then please do email via [email protected] and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Many thanks for your support and for your understanding whilst we operate under these government guidelines.
