My name is Simon and I am Director of Tennis here at The Shrewsbury Club. I am in the club almost every day apart from Friday and you will be able to find me either on court or in the 30 love lounge next to the indoor tennis courts. If you can’t find me please drop me an e-mail on [email protected]. Below I have answered some of our frequently asked questions to help you get on the tennis journey:

No, we offer sessions for people with all different levels of tennis experience, from beginner courses to team practices.

No, we have a collection of rackets in all sizes. When you arrive, just ask at reception and we will be able to get some rackets & balls for you to enjoy your tennis.

We offer tots tennis sessions which are available to children from 3 years old. These sessions are designed for children to practice their; agility, balance & co-ordination.

We offer individual lessons with our experienced coaches for players who would like to improve at a slightly faster rate. These can be for children & adults and will focus on technical & tactical suggestions to help improve your tennis.

If they have a racket great, if not we have plenty for them to borrow. Most importantly they will need some trainers, a water bottle and a big smile!

Yes, children’s tennis lessons are an additional cost. We have 2 different strands of coaching; development sessions & performance sessions. To find more information about the 2 strands, please get in touch and we will let you know which is more suitable.

This depends on the type of membership you have, for our platinum members all tennis sessions are included in your membership. For our other members the sessions are £7.00 / session which is payable in half termly blocks. If you would like to upgrade your membership please talk to one of our sales team.

Yes, we have 6 teams in both the Ladies and Men’s summer league, 8 teams in the Autumn Mixed League and 4 teams in the McKenzie Shield. We aim to have teams suitable for all of our members, regardless of their standard and if you would like to get involved please let us know!

Yes, at The Shrewsbury Club all of our coaches are LTA qualified and accredited. This means that they have the following in place; DBS, first aid & safeguarding. Our coaches are all qualified through the LTA training scheme, our highest qualified coach has completed the LTA Level 5 Master Coach Course and we also have coaches of all levels from tennis leader to LTA Level 4.
