Exciting Nia and Yoga Event Coming to the Club on 10th July

Jane Francis, our popular yoga instructor is holding a great workshop at the Club on 10th July at 2:15pm. Exclusively for members, the workshop will explore the five elements of nature with Nia and Yoga.

The places are limited to just twelve members to ensure a really personalised experience during the two and a half hour workshop.

Those taking part will enjoy and introduction to the five elements of nature; earth, water, fire, air and space.  Jane will be delving into the  connection of the elements to  the three Ayurvedic Doshas (Vata / Pitta / Kapha) and the link to our Chakra system.  As part of the experience you will learn how to use movements from Nia and Yoga to bring balance and harmony to our bodies, mind, emotions and spirit.

During the afternoon there will also be a Nia Class which is mindful movement set to soul-stirring music, focussing on the elements and chakras as we move.

The workshop will also conclude with a Yoga class, practicing specific Asanas (poses) relating to each element and Chakra.  During this class, there will the chance to practice a flowing sequence "Salute to the Elements" and class will end with a guided meditation on the elements.

If you want to attend, then please book via email to Michelle, our Events Co-ordinator, [email protected] and payment, once your placed is confirmed should be made at reception. There are only twelve spaces and bookings have already been taken so please act quickly if you want to be part of the workshop.

Please be aware that you will need to bring water to drink and you will need to bring your own mat. If you don't have a mat then we do have some available to buy at discounted members rates at reception.

The Nia class can be taken either barefoot or in trainers.  For the Yoga class, as well as your mat, please also bring any blocks or cushions that you may need for sitting on and a blanket to keep you warm during the meditation.

Jane will bring a small selection of books for people to look at during the workshop break.  Everyone will have the opportunity to take home a handout on the Elements and Salute to the Elements sequence and there will, of course, be an opportunity to ask questions throughout the afternoon.

Please do arrive in good time for the workshop to begin promptly at 2:15pm in the Mind and Body Studio.

If anyone has some detailed questions about the event then please do feel free to speak directly to Jane at the Club.
