£255,000 Investment in New Gym Kit to Celebrate Re-opening!

We are delighted to announce exciting news that we are undertaking a £255,000 transformation of the gym here at The Shrewsbury Club. An extensive range of brand new state of the art cardiovascular and resistance machines will be introduced. The makeover will also include new flooring while areas of the gym will be redecorated to give it a fresh new look. It’s part of our commitment to providing our members with the best possible experience with the facilities we are able to offer.

We know the importance of continuing to invest in our facilities and that’s why we have pressed ahead with our plans, despite it having clearly been an exceptionally challenging 12 months financially for The Shrewsbury Club. The gym refurbishment is another illustration of our determination to bounce back from being closed for much of the last year and it's a key part of our quest to make the club better than ever.

A number of other notable projects have also been completed during lockdown, including the building of a gym extension. It will create more space to utilise the new equipment we have added and will be important in enabling us to adhere to social distancing measures. The revamped and extended gym follows the opening of our popular new #BASE outdoor area last September and also the addition of a new outdoor yoga pod.

In total, it represents an investment of around £490,000 over the last 12 months as The Shrewsbury Club remains the premier health club in town.

Our dedicated team of staff cannot wait to welcome you all back to the club. Some of them, as part of their flexible furlough arrangement, continued to come to the club at times when we have been closed, including decorating some areas of the club to further enhance its appearance. Their commitment just shows what a passionate and dedicated team we are fortunate to have, as well as the pride they have in The Shrewsbury Club.

We are excited to reopen, starting initially with the outdoor exercise areas, plus outdoor tennis courts, for members from Monday, March 29.

If all goes to plan, we will be opening up the majority of our other facilities that we are allowed to under the government’s road map from Monday, April 12. This will include our new-look gym, as well as the pool, including the vitality pool, with normal opening hours returning.

We really are looking forward so much to welcoming back all of our members and showing you the significant and exciting improvements we have made to your club.
