Update on Covid-19 Government Lockdown

No doubt you will all have heard the Prime Minister’s announcement on Saturday which means that, once more, we are forced to close the Club for four weeks. After we close at 10pm as normal on Wednesday 4th November we will not be able to re-open until Thursday 3rd December.

We are really disappointed by this news and everyone at the Club has worked tirelessly to ensure the Club offered a welcoming and clean environment for everyone to enjoy their exercise in. Many members and guests have told us how safe they feel whilst using the Club and, much like other health clubs across the UK, we have had such a tiny number of members attending the Club before being confirmed positive with COVID-19, our incidence rate is 4.02 cases per 100,000 visits, whereas the UK case rate in the general population, is 150.83 cases per 100,000 people. We had hoped, for this reason, that we would therefore be able to escape any further closures as lockdown measure were tightened.

Sadly, that is not the case and we will have to close.

Just as before, we will not be charging members whilst we are closed. We are unable to stop the payment run that comes out today, 2nd November, but we will simply credit members account and not make a collection in December. After the payment made today, the next payment will be taken on 2nd January 2021. There is no need to cancel your direct debit. For members who have paid in full, we will simply add time on to the end of their membership to cover the period of closure.

If you have a spa booking then we will be in touch to arrange the booking from when we reopen in December.

As I mentioned before myself and the team are desperately sad to have to do this and we will miss all of you.

Just as we did before, we will be offering some online services and we are studying the government guidance closely to see if we can open some of our outdoor facilities during the period of closure. We will update the website as soon as know what will be available.

These are incredibly tough times for everyone but we will get through this by sticking together and supporting each other.

Take care and stay safe

See you in December
