Summer is definitely here, so that means new beauty trends! Our Shrewsbury spa therapists have the lowdown on makeup looks that will shake up your style this summer.
We’ve spent the winter wearing a smoky, moody look, now June is approaching fast and it’s time to lighten things up a bit. Whether you’re partying at a summer festival or soaking up the sun on a sandy beach, now is the time to ditch the dark and bring in the bright…
Spring Clean
Clean skin and ‘no-makeup makeup’ trends are still big. Now is the time to take control of your skincare routine and get ready to bare a little more during the summer months. Lip Service
Kiss goodbye to winter lip hues and apply a punchy, fruity lip tint. Orange red and raspberry pink, shades reminiscent of tulips and roses, bring lips to life. Vibrant hues are the colour of choice for this season.
Give it a glow
Banish a dull, post-winter complexion with a fresh, sun-kissed glow. We love to use a primer with a hint of glitter, or a dash of highlighter. Sweep the product across your cheek bones in a ‘C’ shape up to the temples to draw attention to the high points of your face.
Draw the line
A statement lower lash line is a hot choice this season, if you’re bold enough to try it. Instead of darker, traditional tones such as black and brown, go for bright, playful colour. Be daring; electric purple or shocking blue is sure to make a splash.
Rosy Glow
If all the bright colours aren’t your bag then go for super, subtle rosy tones. Soft pink blushing cheeks and rosebud lips paired with soft fluttery eye lashes make for a young, fresh-faced look.
Festival Fun
This summer’s festival revellers will be glittering in the sunshine with sparkle aplenty. Go for bright turquoise and pink glitter over the entire eye area and across cheek bones and temples. Apply face jewels which are self-adhesive, super easy to apply and peel off when you’re done. A festival is a great place to let loose and have some fun with your makeup, so don’t be afraid to go a bit crazy!
