Outdoor Tennis Availability During Club Closure

Whilst we are very keen to allow our members to use our outdoor courts, this does present us with a number of logistical and security issues. However, with your support and understanding, we will be making courts available for members to use, in accordance with the current restrictions.

Here’s how it will work:

Court Booking

For the next two weeks ( 2nd June - 15th June) courts will be available as below. A coach will be in attendance throughout to maintain security and validate our insurance. One court will be available for coaching and the remaining three for members to play.:

Monday: 12.00noon - 8.30pm - Henry

Tuesday: 9.00am - 12.00noon - Harrison & 11.00am - 7.30pm - Lauren

Wednesday: 9.00am - 4.30pm - Simon Bird & 2.30pm - 8.30pm - Adam

Thursday: 9.00am - 3.30pm - Henry & 12.00noon - 8.30pm - Lauren

Friday: 9.00am - 6.30pm - Adam & 2.30pm - 8.30pm - Simon Bird

Saturday: 10.00am - 6.30pm - Henry

Sunday: Closed

Courts can be booked at the following times:

9am 10am / 11am / midday / 1pm / 2:30pm / 3:30pm / 4:30pm / 5:30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday

Midday / 1pm / 2pm / 3pm / 4:30pm / 5:30pm / 6:30pm / 7:30pm on Monday and Thursday

All courts are free of charge and are only for members of the Club.

Court bookings will be for the hour but you will be able to play for 50 minutes to allow for changeover.

To make a booking please text 07748 654521 with the day and time you want to play, and the name of who you are playing with, or email [email protected] with the same information, including your mobile number as well. Your booking will be confirmed either via text or email

Court Access

The Club buildings will remain closed and there will be no toilet facilities available
Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your allotted time and wait at the gates at the front of the Club. The coach will unlock the gates to let you in at changeover time. These need to remain locked for security and insurance purposes at all other times
Please park a minimum of two car parking spaces away from any other car

Please note the childrens outdoor playground is strictly out of bounds and must not be used.

You must leave immediately after the conclusion of your game

Equipment and Play

Play can now be both singles and doubles and you can use the same set of balls. It is recommended that you wash your hands with a sanitiser at the end of the game

There should be no sharing of water bottles and water bottles should be kept at the back of each player’s respective end

Please try to avoid touching communal areas such as the net and posts. The court gate will be kept open throughout the day

You must change ends at opposite sides of the net

Please do sanitise your racket, especially the grip, after your game

Coaching

Coaching is available on a one-to-one basis and in groups of up to five. Group coaching will start from 8th June and you can find all the details here. If you are interested in one-to-one coaching then please make the arrangements with the coach direct according to the timetable above.

You should pay the coach direct prior to the session.

If juniors are being coached then only one parent will be allowed on site and they should bring their own chair to use during the session.

We are sorry that we cannot be more flexible but the majority of the rules above are part of the government restrictions and are also the criteria set down by the LTA in order for Club’s to be allowed to offer their courts. We also have our own insurance and security requirements to adhere to. We are doing all we can to provide the facility for members to use and are making it free of charge. Members using the courts will not pay either a court fee or a membership fee during this time, as this is not the normal experience we would want to provide you with.

If you do have any queries on the tennis then please do contact Simon Haddleton direct on the contact details listed above.
