The Haughmond, an award-winning coaching inn at Upton Magna, is the latest local business to form an association with The Shrewsbury Club.

A seven-bedroom hotel which also features a hugely popular restaurant, The Haughmond has developed an excellent reputation since being bought by Martin and Melanie Board, its owners, in 2012.The couple are both members of The Shrewsbury Club and enjoy their regular visits here.

The Haughmond and The Shrewsbury Club have now come up with ways to work closely together - with club members now able to reap the benefits. Members of The Shrewsbury Club will receive a 10 per cent discount off their bill in The Haughmond’s restaurant between Tuesdays and Thursdays.

There will also be a 10 per cent discount for our members and guests wishing to stay overnight at The Haughmond (bookings must be made direct with The Haughmond).
Our Imagine Spa treatment menus will be displayed in The Haughmond's seven rooms, with visitors having the opportunity to book a treatment during their stay. The Haughmond’s website ( will also feature links to our Imagine Spa.

Jon Gidney, the Shrewsbury Club’s marketing manager, said:  “We are delighted to form an association with The Haughmond, which is a prestigious local venue with a great reputation for fine dining. Partnering with local businesses like The Haughmond enables us to offer and deliver greater benefits and opportunities for the members of our club.”

Melanie Board, from The Haughmond, added: “We are looking forward to a healthy partnership with Shrewsbury Club members and look forward to meeting the members here at The Haughmond.

We are delighted to be members of The Shrewsbury Club. As a family with two young teenage daughters, we are finding the facilities outstanding, accommodating all of our individual needs for leisure and fitness.

The club is very welcoming and friendly, extremely clean and comfortable. The fitness instructors are very supportive and knowledgeable and have integrated all four of us comfortably into our first time gym experience. We use the café regularly as a bolt hole away from our own and find the food and drink offering excellent.”
