Whether you’re pregnant or are a new mum, Vicki Card - our pre and post natal training specialist - will help you stay strong and healthy. Her MummyFit classes are particularly popular amongst new mums who want to bring their babies along to classes, meaning they can keep fit without having to pay for babysitters.
Pre Natal Classes
MummyFit Aqua – A wonderful form of safe exercise during pregnancy, freeing you from the weight of your pregnancy for 45 minutes. MummyFit Aqua helps you keep fit, improves strength and prepares your body for labour. Our friendly classes also give you the opportunity to make new friends
MummyFit Pilates – Whether you’re a Pilates beginner or a seasoned pro, Vicki will guide you through which exercises are safe for your pregnancy. Pre natal Pilates doesn’t put a strain on your body and can benefit your health and that of your baby. It will help you prepare for labour and birth. Again, it will also be nice to meet other mums-to-be.
Post Natal Classes
MummyFit Bootcamp - This outdoor power walking / jogging class, with its mixture of cardio, muscle strengthening and toning exercises, is the answer to shifting those extra post natal pounds. MummyFit Bootcamp burns fat, improves posture and strengthens core muscles. Providing a safe and effective workout, this one-hour class allows for time to chat to other mums, caters for all fitness levels and provides motivation to regularly attend classes. The terrain is suitable for all buggy types, it’s fun and naturally baby comes along too!
MummyFit Pilates - This 30-minute class provides an ideal way to strengthen your core muscles (abdominal and pelvic floor), strengthen your back and improve posture. After giving birth, many women are keen to regain their figure but are often feeling tired and weak. This class is ideal to re-train the muscles that may have 'given up’ during pregnancy and birth. You will energise those all-important core muscles, learn relaxation techniques and meet new mums… all with baby in tow. Pilates is not especially cardiovascular, so should be accompanied by low-level aerobic exercise such as buggy walking.
MummyFit Spinning – A truly fantastic 30-minute cardiovascular workout, performed on The Shrewsbury Club’s stationary bikes. Vicki will keep you motivated as you stimulate riding along flat roads, climbing hills and maybe even racing some sprints! All whilst baby watches you go and enjoys the music!
