Winter Nail Trends

Wondering what the latest trends on the catwalk are this season? Our Imagine Spa Shrewsbury therapists have rounded up which nail designs are making the most appearances on the runways to help you get the look this winter.

Get in shape.

Nowadays it’s all about the point. This season, square nails are what everybody is talking about. That said, pointed nails may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

So, if you aren’t into sharp points, then a curve will do the job. An almond-shaped nail is the perfect compromise.

Bejewelled

This season, too much is never enough. Gowns, hair and accessories were adorned with bling during the last few months’ fashion shows - so why stop there?

The best place for gems to shine is on your fingertips. This season adorn your nails with spikes, gems and Swarovski crystals for that extra sparkle.

While the embellishment in your nail art might come from decals, there are plenty of new winter shades that will make your nails glisten. From pale tones to use as a base that will make the sparkles pop, to new chunky glitters for this season’s simplest way to shine.

Wild Life

Animal-inspired fashion is the biggest trend this season. Bold patterns replaced the fur of previous years with leopard, snakeskin and zebra nails adorning catwalk models.

Get the look:

If you’re not up for animal print inspired nail art, simply complement the trend with safari-inspired colours. Look for shades that draw inspiration from the sweeping landscapes of a safari and keep an eye out for vibrant graphic prints from African culture.

For a twist on the trend, create the patterns in bright and vibrant colours such as pink, purple or blue.

Cuticle Clash

Another big trend this season is a new variation of the reverse-French style. Retro and futuristic, colour your cuticles with clashing shades and vibrant variations.

If you experiment, you’ll find both simple and chic combinations are possible.

Anything goes for the cuticle colour pop trend. Clashing colours are perfect for fun and funky colour blocking. For the less daring, try out the technique with a cool, classic nude.

The Accent Nail

If you find a full set of nail art a little intimidating, then this is the ideal compromise. Pick a finger and let our nail artists get creative. There are hundreds of unique designs for any occasion, whether you choose fun or sophisticated.

Your ring finger simply painted in a contrasting nail colour creates this look with ease. Alternatively, bling it up with glitter or a metallic shade for a party or special occasion.
