Members and Staff Love the Les Mills Bootcamp

Michelle Read, the gym manager at The Shrewsbury Club, was delighted with the response from both members and non-members when we recently staged a successful Les Mills Bootcamp.

The Les Mills fitness classes are already extremely popular at the Club and the bootcamp enabled more people to experience it.

"We had three Les Mills classes - grit, bodypump and then bodycombat," said Michelle. "We had 67 particicipants over three sessions which was good.

"The members loved it. We had really good feedback from them. We also had about 10 non-members here which was really good. They came and saw the facilities and saw what we have to offer which was also great."

Michelle added: "Les Mills has many benefits. As it's a structured work out, from grit through to combat through to pump, they all work in different ways, so they all work on strengthening every part of your body.

"You can work on your cardiovascular fitness as well as your strength.

"The Les Mills classes, due to the music and the instructors, is very motivational, so it helps a lot of people out that way."

"We already offer all those three classes but the aim is that we do more launch dates so we do them every three months and go on from there - but we do have Les Mills classes on every day."

Michelle stressed there is always the opportunity for members to enjoy virtual Les Mills classes, offering the flexibility to fit in with their own hectic schedules.

She said: "We're trying to make the virtual classes busier but people love the instructor-taught classes. It's just trying to get people to see the benefits of doing Les Mills whenever they want and not just when there is a class on.

"The timetable can be changed if a member needs it to. If they have a free hour before they have to perhaps pick their children up from school they can call us and ask if we can put them a Les Mills bodypump class on at a particular time, so they'll have booked out the studio for, say, 2.05pm to do body pump.

"It means a lot of parents, a lot of people that are self employed that don't want to come at night or early morning, they can come any time during the day and do a Les Mills class."
